Our Story................

Rascills restaurant is located approximately two miles west of the lovely market town of Easingwold, North Yorkshire, directly off the A19 trunk road. The restaurant is set within the very peaceful village of Raskelf surrounded by green fields and the famous White Horse at Kilburn. A good reference point should you need it! The name 'Rascills' was derived from the village name Raskelf, as it was known in the Domesday Book.

Rascills is a quality, standard driven restaurant which is fully independent, owned and operated by husband and wife team Richard & Lindsey Johns. The two bring a wealth of experience in hospitality having previously owned Artisan restaurant, Hessle, East Yorkshire for nine years. Through sheer hard work and dedication critical acclaim followed gaining many accolades along the way. This included Yorkshire Life Restaurant of the Year, Top UK 100 Restaurant, Good Food Guide Restaurant of the Year North England and Michelin guide rated for ten years. The Observers leading food critic, Jay Rayner once dubbed the couple 'Hulls Angels' for their work.

Richard & Lindsey did not set out chasing accolades but rather and way more importantly, wanted to look after each and every guest as best they could. This is as true now as was then. They are not slaves to the ever changing food fashions but offer food and service of great integrity. Come and find out for yourself.

A very warm welcome awaits you.
